Our Substance Abuse Professional is qualified and trained to complete evaluations for employees in safety sensitive positions regulated by the Department of Transportation (DOT). Our goal is to provide SAP services that adhere to Federal Department of Transportation guidelines. According to the U.S DOT, when you test positive or refuse to test, you are not allowed to do any safety-sensitive duties under any DOT-regulated employer until you have seen a Substance Abuse Professional and completed the return-to-duty process. SAP Evaluations Available Nationwide
The employees with safety-sensitive functions in the transportation industry are responsible for a safe work environment for their co-workers and for the millions of people who travel in many ways throughout the nation. To keep the workplace safe, the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) has put in place rules to follow, like rules about drug use and alcohol misuse. A substance abuse professional, or SAP, is defined by the US Department of Transportation as a person who evaluates employees who have violated DOT drug and alcohol testing regulations in order to make recommendations for the course of treatment or education, follow-up testing and aftercare.
A SAP must be licensed as a physician, social worker, psychologist, or have another type of license or certification as a therapist or counselor. It is their job to keep the public safe and to ensure that drivers who have been through the return-to-duty process are able to return to safety-sensitive positions.

You will have a meeting with a qualified SAP to ask questions about your violation, drug and alcohol use history, employment history, abuse history, family history, and any other relevant information. This evaluation will help to determine the level of care your organization provides for your SAP Program.
