The Substance Abuse Professional on our staff is qualified and trained to complete evaluations for employees in safety sensitive positions regulated by the Department of Transportation (DOT). We are committed to providing SAP services in accordance with the Federal Department of Transportation guidelines. According to the U.S DOT, when you test positive or refuse to test, you are not allowed to do any safety-sensitive duties under any DOT-regulated employer until you have seen a Substance Abuse Professional and completed the return-to-duty process. SAP Evaluations Available Nationwide
The employees in the transportation industry who have safety-sensitive functions are responsible for providing a safe work environment not only for their co-workers but also for the millions of people who travel by various means throughout the nation. By establishing work rules, including rules on drug use and alcohol misuse, the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) is able to create a safe work environment. As defined by the DOT, a substance abuse professional is a person who evaluates employees who have violated drug and alcohol testing regulations to make recommendations for treatment, education, follow-up testing, and aftercare.
SAP’s must be licensed physicians, social workers, psychologists, or otherwise licensed and certified therapists or counselors. It is their duty to protect the public and make sure that drivers who have completed the return-to-duty process are able to return to safety-sensitive positions.
