SAP Evaluations Available Nationwide
The employees with safety-sensitive functions in the transportation industry are responsible for a safe work environment for their co-workers and for the millions of people who travel in many ways throughout the nation. The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) has established work rules in order to maintain a safe work environment, including rules concerning drug use and alcohol misuse. A substance abuse professional, as defined by the Department of Transportation, is someone who evaluates employees who have failed a DOT drug or alcohol test and makes recommendations for treatment, education, follow-up testing, and aftercare.
SAP’s must be licensed physicians, social workers, psychologists, or otherwise licensed and certified therapists or counselors.
It is the responsibility of these individuals to protect public interest and ensure that drivers returning from the return-to-duty process are fit to return to safety-sensitive positions.
