We are committed to providing SAP services per Federal Department of Transportation guidelines. You are not allowed to perform any safety-sensitive duties under any DOT-regulated employer if you test positive or refuse to test, according to the U.S DOT. SAP Evaluations Available Nationwide
Employees responsible for safety-sensitive functions in the transportation industry must provide a safe work environment for co-workers and the millions of people who travel in many ways throughout the nation. In order to ensure a safe work environment, the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) has established work rules, including rules on drug use and alcohol misuse. A substance abuse professional, or SAP, evaluates employees who have violated DOT drug and alcohol testing regulations and makes recommendations for the course of treatment or education, follow-up testing, and aftercare, as defined by the US DOT.
SAP’s must have a license as a physician, social worker, psychologist, or otherwise licensed and certified therapist or counselor. It is their responsibility to look out for the public’s safety and wellbeing and to make sure that drivers who have to go through the return-to-duty process are able to go back to safety-sensitive positions.
