Our qualified Substance Abuse Professional is able to complete evaluations for employees in safety sensitive positions regulated by the Department of Transportation (DOT). Our goal is to provide SAP services that adhere to Federal Department of Transportation guidelines. If you test positive or refuse to test, the U.S DOT says that you are not able to do any safety-sensitive duties under any DOT-regulated employer. You need to see a Substance Abuse Professional and finish the return-to-duty process. We would be happy to tell you more about what we do.
The employees with safety-sensitive functions in the transportation industry have the responsibility of creating a safe work environment for their fellow workers and the millions of people who travel in various ways all over the nation. In order to ensure a safe work environment, the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) has established work rules, including rules on drug use and alcohol misuse. A substance abuse professional, as defined by the US Department of Transportation, is a person who evaluates employees who have violated DOT drug and alcohol testing regulations and makes recommendations for the course of treatment or education, follow-up testing, and aftercare.
In order to be a SAP, you must have a license as a physician, social worker, psychologist, or have another type of license or certification as a therapist or counselor.
It is the responsibility of these individuals to protect public interest and ensure that drivers returning from the return-to-duty process are fit to return to safety-sensitive positions.
Substance Abuse Evaluations are available for
FAA, FTA, PHSA, USCG, FMCSA & FRA
