SAP Evaluations Available Nationwide
The employees with safety-sensitive functions in the transportation industry are responsible for a safe work environment for their co-workers and for the millions of people who travel in many ways throughout the nation. In order to ensure a safe work environment, the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) has established work rules, including rules on drug use and alcohol misuse. A substance abuse professional, as defined by the US Department of Transportation, is a person who evaluates employees who have violated DOT drug and alcohol testing regulations and makes recommendations for the course of treatment or education, follow-up testing, and aftercare.
To be a SAP, one must be a licensed physician, social worker, psychologist, or have another type of license or certification as a therapist or counselor. Their duty is to protect the public interest and ensure that drivers who go through the return-to-duty process are fit to return to safety-sensitive positions.

Mr. Collins’ evaluations are typically conducted Monday through Saturday. If needed, same day service is available.
Mr. Collins will recommend an appropriate education and/or treatment program for you based on your specific needs, which include the presence and severity of your drug or alcohol problem, if one is identified. In order to make a recommendation about education and/or treatment, the level of drug and/or alcohol use will be identified by Mr. Collins.
