The qualified Substance Abuse Professional on our team can complete evaluations for employees in safety sensitive positions regulated by the Department of Transportation (DOT). We are committed to providing SAP services per Federal Department of Transportation guidelines. According to the U.S DOT, when testing positive or refusing to test, you are prohibited from performing any safety-sensitive duties under any DOT-regulated employer until you have seen a Substance Abuse Professional and completed the return-to-duty process. SAP Evaluations Available Nationwide
The employees with safety-sensitive functions in the transportation industry are responsible for a safe work environment for their co-workers and for the millions of people who travel in many ways throughout the nation. Establishing work rules, including rules on drug use and alcohol misuse, is how the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) ensures a safe work environment. A substance abuse professional, as defined by the US Department of Transportation, is a person who evaluates employees who have violated DOT drug and alcohol testing regulations and makes recommendations for the course of treatment or education, follow-up testing, and aftercare.
To qualify as a SAP, you must be licensed as a physician, social worker, psychologist, or have another type of license or certification as a therapist or counselor. They have the responsibility of protecting the public interest and making sure that drivers who go through the return-to-duty process are fit to go back to safety-sensitive positions.
