The Substance Abuse Professional on our staff who is qualified can complete evaluations for employees in safety sensitive positions regulated by the Department of Transportation (DOT). We are committed to providing SAP services in accordance with the Federal Department of Transportation guidelines. According to the U.S DOT, you are not permitted to carry out any safety-sensitive duties under any DOT-regulated employer if you test positive or refuse to test. SAP Evaluations Available Nationwide
The employees with safety-sensitive functions in the transportation industry are responsible for a safe work environment for their co-workers and for the millions of people who travel in many ways throughout the nation. The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) has established work rules in order to maintain a safe work environment, including rules concerning drug use and alcohol misuse. As defined by the DOT, a substance abuse professional is a person who evaluates employees who have violated drug and alcohol testing regulations to make recommendations for treatment, education, follow-up testing, and aftercare.
SAP’s must be licensed physicians, social workers, psychologists, or otherwise licensed and certified therapists or counselors. They have the responsibility of protecting the public interest and making sure that drivers who go through the return-to-duty process are fit to go back to safety-sensitive positions.
